What to wear when going out to watch live theater? - what to wear to the ahmanson theatre

I take a class field trip to Los Angeles to see Spring Awakening @ Ahmanson Theater. I have never seen live theater before the actual (with the exception of the school play) and therefore do not know the right clothes. Can someone me a few examples of what would be the right person to bring such an event? Pictures would be nice, thank you.
